Nepal Impact Marathon 2022

About us

The IMS Foundation takes the biggest challenges facing Nepal & seeks out the most extraordinary grassroot organisations who are working to catalyse real change in the country.

We support two wonderful organisations in Nepal. We blend our focus across two concepts: long term community change with short-term individual changes.

Short term: we support Burns Violence Survivors (BVS). Since 2015, our runners have directly funded over 200 life-changing/saving surgeries for victims of burns in Nepal. There are over 56,000 cases each year, with just two hospital wards for treatment. Not only tackling the care, but the prevention - a huge challenge when faced with the task of tackling domestic abuse and the use of acid in such attacks We give the team an unrestricted grant and, after 7 years, still every single rupee is accounted for and connected with a personal story of change.

Long term: the BVS challenge is interlinked with the nationwide challenge of domestic violence, hospital provision, and general education. For this reason, we also support an organisation that looks at how to improve these areas over time. Childreach Nepal have been our partners since 2015 also. They work to not only keep kids in school but engaged in their education. The programme aims to reduce dropout rates in the schools, to prevent child from being trafficking, indulging in unsafe migration and any other form of child abuse children may face once they drop out of school. It also focuses on bringing equality among the community regardless of gender, race, and economic background of the family. Childreach Nepal are particularly focused on sport – with football, cricket, running and, hopefully soon, rugby programs that are designed to teach the kids about how to recognise trafficking, how to react to each other, how to interact with the UN Global Goals.

We take The Global Goals from being sometimes abstract concepts to being real, tangible, and understandable on a micro-level.
